Pack Film Continues in March!

posted by Dave

We have received confirmation from two independent sources that Polaroid has reached an agreement with a third party manufacturer and will re-introduce three peel-apart pack films in the coming months!

Is Polaroid film saved? Not entirely, as most of you who have filled out our survey have indicated that integral film (600/Spectra/Time Zero) is your film of choice. But we at SavePolaroid.com are very excited about this step in a positive direction.

An enormous thanks to Sander Beenen (flickr: polaroidium) for his diligence in extracting this info from Polaroid, and much thanks to Phil Smith at the UK store Richard Frankfurt Photographic for backing up Sander’s findings via email.

Here’s a clip from the internal Polaroid memo:

“Although plans for some products are still being defined, it’s now confirmed that 3 of [Polaroid’s] most popular peel-apart film products will be available from early 2009. The types available will be T125i colour gloss (100 ISO), T667 black & white (3000 ISO) and T664 black & white (100 ISO). Availability of all three types may initially be limited, but it is anticipated that all will be freely available by the end of March 2009.”

We’re especially intrigued by the “some products are still being defined” part of the memo…

We will do our best to bring you the latest information about this and any other developments as soon as we can confirm them as fact.

Stay tuned!
